I just wanted to say “thank you” for posting this roadmap. And after spending the last week tracing through the rendering code I’m extremely happy to see these couple lines posted - exactly what I would like to see:

  • Bypass ParameterCollection in most cases (it has lot of overhead), and work directly with constant buffer by frequency of update (trying to avoid most computation/updates)
  • Each graphics feature should be comprised in a single file that covers the whole pipeline (now things are quite “deep” and “magic”, hard to debug and understand what happens under the hood)

Please people, give the priority to finish the documentation. This would help everyone, and would significantly reduce the users doubts, giving to your team more time to spent in engine development.

Plugins are very important, studio custom tools API, etc.
I hope support for plugins come quicker than I expect…
